Unbelievable article from the Age in 1993 that notes the 30th Anniversary of the famous Scanlens 1963 set, which apart from being released to test the Bubble Gum card market in Australia, has served to bring much joy to fans of VFL Football, Rugby League and Soccer.
Here is the whole article as it appeared – note the suggestion that a complete set of mint cards could be picked up for a whopping $700, if you could find one! Well at least they got the part about rarity right!
